Sad news via Jane Yolen this morning. Well-loved children's author Brian Jacques died Feb. 5th, 2011 at age 71. Jacques Redwall series was first published in 1986 and since that time Jacques had written almost another book every year, totaling 22 titles in the Redwall series counting the latest which is set to be released in May of this year.
Jacques' novels were translated into more than 20 languages and have sold more than 20 million copies worldwide in the last 25 years.
An entire generation of young readers grew up to Jacques' Redwall stories. Rest in Peace Mr. Jacques.
